May News

April began with another delicious & excellent value lunch in the Theatre Lounge; thank you Ann.

This was followed by the regular monthly pub night, taking advantage of cut price drinks at the Lord Burghley pub in Stamford.

Ann hosted an evening meal at the newly refurbished Paten & Co. was enjoyed by all who attended & I am told the food was very tasty with some unusual dishes on offer.

Hugh arranged an evening at Greetham Valley for an 'old skool disco' & two course meal.  After enjoying the delicious meal it was time to dance away all those calories!

After two days of heavy rain it remained dry for us to walk around Whissendine.  Some of the stiles were a little challenging for those of us with little legs & we were accompanied through a field by some very friendly cows who took a liking to one of our members: helping him along with some nudging & licking!!  We looked around a working windmill & had a chat with the miller.  It was a lovely way to spend a  Sunday morning, thank you Marie.  This was followed by a delicious carvery; leaving all of us feeling very satisfied.

Unfortunately there have still been very few offers to host events & if this doesn't change, the group may be unable to continue. I’m sure you will agree that this would be a shame as it’s good to be able to meet up, socialise & chat to different people.
